THE HIT LIST - July 2, 2018

There are good things on the horizon for Film Combat Syndicate, and I can't wait to show you. That's all I can say right now, so I hope you will all follow along.

In the meantime, The Hit List is back with another rousing installment for fans of action films and a deep appreciation for the stunt performers and action actors that make it all possible. We begin with another spectacular weekly playlist of stunt and action performance reels with entries from DeVille Vannik, Dominique Smith, Brian Host, Kate Angus, Talin Chat, Sergi Subito, Mami Speede Ito, Patrick Chan, Geo Corvera and Danny Rowe, and a powerful Emmy 2018 entry for Best Stunt Coordination for AMC's Into The Badlands, edited by Vi-Dan Tran who also performed stunts on the show.

Promotional bits are nil this week and so we're definitely skipping straight to the hefty fight action ahead, and directly to Finland where a couple of Ninjas On A Bridge have some Finnish ninja issues to settle with Jesse Likola and Jakka Hutchings performing.

Following that is a playlist brimming with imaginative fight fare and stellar shorts starting with one of my favorite ninjas as of late, David Vuong, opposite performer Choong Hing Goh. Afterwards is a trio of my favorite pics among several experimental fight bits featuring Jacob Pincock and Atticus Hinckley, Sam Krumrine and Brian Monk, and Kayla Radomski and C.C. Weske - the latter who also produces and directs with Tim Weske.

John Cihangir fights to get a good night's sleep opposite a sleep-fighting Pat Chu in Roomie, and Mykola Galagan is back to kill some zombies while Josh Chavez gets the business end of a cautionary tale about hitchhikers opposite Alex Meglei and with Geran Simpson lensing. Following that is a rip-roaring, batshit testament to the craft from action actor, stunt performer and founding Martial Club member Brian Le who leads a minute-and-a-half long bloody, gonzo, sick and crazy-tastic martial arts delight in Death To All.

Philippe Deseck hosts a three-way catfight featuring Ashley Payne, Sherry Kawecki and Sheridan King, the fate of Ermias Baraki's The Package lies between Donald Tucker and Moses Opawumi, and Art School Dropout's Joey Min highlights the often elusive and tricky creative process in The Collab with celebrated Hong Kong stuntman/trailblazer Robert Samuels.

Bridgette Bentley tests the friendship of riches in Nenkohliso: Bridgette's Story from Marques Zaror and Jon Alagoa returns to face off with Sabine Kviste in the newesr installment of the Kiwami shortfilm series inspired by the "Ryu Ga Gotoku" game franchise, while Garrett Dumas and Michael Dinh explore the epic battle against the truest evil of the Star Wars universe in Birth Of A Sith, followed by our own introduction of Jarrod Crook's 2011 shortfilm action comedy titled Bitch Slapped which is currently on deck for a sequel.

Ryan Connolly's explosive new sci-fi action thriller, BALLiSTIC, arrives from Film Riot while Justin Connors brings The Green Hornet back to life on screen in a new short fan film from ApePrime Productions with Alex Zuko, James Nguyen and Rachel Thompson, and Mason Davis and Yoshi Sudarso battle Sam Puefua, Vonzell Carter and their minions for the soul of the city in Haile Lee's latest and long-awaited Final Fight-inspired fan feat from Haile Lee, The Broken Gear!

I might take the next week off from The Hit List to get some things done unless I manage to get lucky. I'll post a reminder at some point just to keep you guys up to speed, while you can still visit (or revisit) last week's Hit List entries to indulge further. Sub to these channels and SHARE The Hit List with friends, and if you or someone you know does spectacular things in the world of action and movies on either side of the lens or has a shortfilm project that needs promoting or sharing, run it by us at filmcombatsyndicate@gmail.com and we'll be more than happy to vet it!
