If you've been keeping up any on Korean director Kim Yong-hwa (Mr. Go, 200 Pounds Beauty), you might have been keen on his latest webtoon adaptation epic, Along With The Gods, which is officially getting a December 22 release from Well Go USA. The film also doesn't rollout in South Korea until the 20th with reactions pending although at this juncture, it's safe to say the project is doing some wonders for the director now at the center of anothe major project involving Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment.

Prodigal is the name of the film from POW! Entertainment and Luka Productions, and is described as "a superhero film about 'paternal love'" according to a recent report at Screendaily. The film was officially announced at LA Comic Con last month hailing from Kim's Dexter Studios and marking the film as Kim's first movie. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Spider-Man 2 and I Am Number Four) are providing the screenplay inspired further by what has been iterated as Kim's insight into "humanism" and the film's potential with audiences in Korea and abroad.
“I identified with Stan Lee on many aspects about the direction for a new [kind of] Hollywood superhero that has previously been difficult to see,” he said, explaining why he is attracted to directing the film.
Talks are still underway with a hopeful 2019 release being circled and dotted. Stay tuned!
