Anyone treading on airport grounds in recent hours might have spotted a certain Vidyut Jammwal awaiting a flight bound for Thailand this month. The move signals the latest progress for the upcoming action adventure, Junglee for the Commando star marking a first for The Scorpion King and I Am Wrath helmer Chuck Russell as production commences this year.
As Times Now reports per the film's plot, Jammwal will play Ashwath, a big time veterinarian obliged by his grandmother to revisit his jungle home in Kerala in lieu of the tenth anniversary of his mother's death. Upon rekindling his paltry relationship with his animal activist father along with that of his childhood elephant sister, Didi, and her cub, Apu, Ashwath finds himself thirsty for vengeance when poachers target his village, killing his father as well as Apu.
Given the obvious similarities with Tony Jaa's stellar rollout via Tom Yum Goong, clearly a narrative like this will give Jammwal and Russell plenty of wiggle room, particularly for Jammwal who hit it big with Commando in 2013. Junglee Pictures is spearheading the new thriller currently reading a release in time for Dusshera on October 19.
