With Carnahan Out, Jackie Chan's FIVE AGAINST A BULLET Lands A New Director

I suppose with The Raid re-adaptation, Uncharted, Bad Boys For Life and X-Force piling on that Stretch and Smokin' Aces helmer Joe Carnahan would have to cast aside something. Of course, that would be action star Jackie Chan's Five Against A Bullet for which the pair were set to work on as of December following its lingering development since 2010.

Now, we have news from Deadline citing Traitor helmer Jeffrey Nachmanoff as the director of the new action thriller which sees Chan starring among an ensemble cast to be announced. Matt Corman and Chris Ord are following up Alex Litvak's script of their own for a story which centers on Chan in the role of Frank, one of five specially skilled bodyguards hired by a Latin American politician to protect him during a violent election.

Five Against A Bullet is a Chinese co-production between Columbia pictures and Chan's Sparkle Roll production banner with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Jordan Schur producing. Chan fans would also be wise to keep an eye out for his services as producer on upcoming sci-fi, Reset, and sci-fi action adventure, Bleeding Steel, with MGM's Shanghai Dawn and his VO portrayal in The Lego Ninjago Movie also in tow.
