Husband/Wife film duo, actress Melissa McCarthy and filmmaker Ben Falcone are readying a July start date for New Line Cinema action comedy, Super-Intelligence. As Borys Kit's exclusive at The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday notes, the film will be their fourth collaboration in an actor/director capacity since Tammy (2014), The Boss (2016), and the upcoming May 11 release of Life Of The Party.
In Super-Intelligence, McCarthy will play Carol Peters, a former corporate executive whose earnest yet unfulfilled life is turned upside down when she is selected for observation by the world’s first super-intelligence – an artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world. The Boss scribe Steve Mallory is penning the script.
Further casting and crewing remain pending for the actress who, before filming Super-Intelligence, will go into production very soon for dark, gritty, female centric Vertigo/DC comic adaptation, The Kitchen with fellow stars Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss. As for any talk of Spy 2, we'll just have to chalk that one up as another sequel with have to wait with baited breath for.
