Netflix Sci-Fi Series ALTERED CARBON Counts Bodies And Lives In The Electric First Teaser

Fans anxiously awaiting Netflix's upcoming sci-fi action series, Altered Carbon, now have a release date carved for February 2 next year. The streaming network  unveiled the date in the first official teaser for the new literary-inspired show created and run by Laeta Kalogridis, along with a good old-fashioned advertisement to fit the narrative laden with a murky, dystopian neo-noir setting and immersive color and spectacle to start. And of course, visuals peppered up with explosive action and kicks to the sternum.
Based on the award-winning novel, Altered Carbon takes place in a future where the human mind can now be digitized and downloaded into a "cortical stack" and placed into new bodies, called sleeves.
The series follows Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman), who is brought back to life centuries later to investigate the attempted murder of Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), the wealthiest man on Earth. As the investigation progresses, Kovacs comes to learn that his past isn’t nearly as buried as he thought.
Also starring are actresses Martha Higareda and Dichen Lachman, and actors Leonardo Lam, Chris Conner, Ato Essandoh with Byron Mann, Tamara Taylor and Kristen Lehman. Watch the teaser now.
