Currently making its run throught select cinemas in Canada, David Hyde is paving the way with his latest debut at the helm, Stegman Is Dead. Raven Banner already has an official trailer running, host to a festive look at Hyde's dark comedy crime tale telling of a dead pornographer, an incriminating VHS tape, and an array of bizarre hitmen.
Meet Stegman. He's dead. In this crime comedy, bizarre assassins must come together to unravel the puzzle of Stegman's blackmail secret, and why he's already dead on the set of his own porn film. Stegman's secret is somewhere within the rooms of his expansive suburban seventies bungalow, and the cops are already circling. Gus and Evy, two of the central characters, must escape Stegman's house only to discover the true nature of his secret at last, and with it, the awful realization that now... they have to break back in.Starring are Michael Eklund, Michael Ironside and Bernice Liu for the film's one-week Toronto release at Carlton Cinema, followed by Sunday 19 screenings at the Rio Grind Film Festival in Vancouver, and in Winnipeg for one week at Towne Cinema on December 8.
