TRIPLE THREAT Sells To Multiple Territories Worldwide For Theatrical And Netflix Releases In 2018

July was a great month to be a martial arts fan with all the excuse in the world to repeat-watch the comic-con teaser trailer for the new martial arts thriller, Triple Threat. Of course, critical results are pending but the trailer ponies up everything you could want in a movie of its genre with Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais and Tiger Chen leading the cast and Savage Dog helmer Jesse V. Johnson directing.

The movie opens in 2018 with plans for a sequel already underway and Well Go USA has already snagged first dibs on the upcoming ensemble action pic. That leaves off a number of territories to be accounted for which brings us to Screendaily's exclusive on Monday for the U.S. based company to release the film in the U.K. and Australia as well, in addition to the following locations: Germany (Koch), Latin America (Swen), Italy (Movies Inspired), Portugal (Cinemundo), South Korea (Korea Screen), Japan (Klockworx), Middle East (Italia Films), and Greece (Spentzos), as well as Turkey (Aqua Pinema), Vietnam and Malaysia (Rainfilm), and India (Viswaas Films).

The film will also arrive on Netflix in Hong Kong, Myanmar, Cambodia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan.

The news comes in the wake of major box office success for Celine Jade whose recent co-starring role in Wolf Warrior 2 with actor and director Wu Jing earned nearly $853 million dollars since opening on July 28. The actress is joined by the aforementioned action movie headliners for the story of a team of mercenaries on a mission to protect a billionaire's daughter from a squad of assassins looking to end her anti-crime crusade for good.

Rounding out the cast are Scott Adkins, Michael Bisping and Michael Jai White with JeeJa Yanin and Michael Wong also starring.
“Following the enormous success of Wolf Warrior 2, Celina Jade fans can expect her talents to continue to shine in Triple Threat,” said Arclight Films chief Gary Hamilton and fellow producer Ying Ye. “The combination of our amazing cast, top marital arts experts and the high-quality filmmakers on this project have created a film that will set audiences alight around the world.”
Shanghai Aurora Alliance, SC Films, and Hamilton Productions produced the film in association with Beijing Manyougu Company Ltd., and Kungfuman Culture Media.

Jesse V. Johnson is currently in production with Adkins for the new thriller, The Pay Up, with graphic novel adaptation, Accident Man, already in tow.
