The last 24 hours or so have been a mild mix of exciting and irksome with some fans exhibiting worry over The Wave helmer Roar Uthaug's latest game adaptation, Tomb Raider. Angelina Jolie's own performances falls somewhat memorable for most fans and we've yet to see what actress Alicia Vikander's own portrayal will bring to the masses, save for a few stills and a trailer tease that went viral on Monday.
Personally, I think the reactions emerging so soon could do for some furthet waiting. In the meantime, the movie officially opens on March 16, 2018 and with plenty of time between now and then, IGN is hosting a live stream around 1:00am EST with the actress in which they will also broadcast the first official teaser trailer to kick it all off. Also starring are Into The Badlands series star Daniel Wu along with actors Dominic West and Walton Goggins.

Now a young woman of 21 without any real focus or purpose, Lara navigates the chaotic streets of trendy East London as a bike courier, barely making the rent, and takes college courses, rarely making it to class. Advised to face the facts and move forward after seven years without him, even Lara can’t understand what drives her to finally solve the puzzle of his mysterious death.
Going explicitly against his final wishes, she leaves everything she knows behind in search of her dad’s last-known destination: a fabled tomb on a mythical island that might be somewhere off the coast of Japan. But her mission will not be an easy one; just reaching the island will be extremely treacherous. Suddenly, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Lara, who—against the odds and armed with only her sharp mind, blind faith and inherently stubborn spirit—must learn to push herself beyond her limits as she journeys into the unknown. If she survives this perilous adventure, it could be the making of her, earning her the name tomb raider.The film itself borrows a bit from the latest installments of the game in which we meet a much younger Lara Croft. That much I know, and it sounds like a worthwhile approach to a big movie. Enjoy the livestream when it airs as well as the trailer. I'll be in bed by then so...I'll catch it myself when I do. 😉
