Whether or not anyone finds Guy Ritchie's latest choice of subject matter worthy of continuation will be an interesting development to eye this summer. Not that King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword doesn't feel the least bit dull - it certainly does - at least for me, but Warner Bros. Pictures is selling it hard this weekend with a final trailer that goes ham on the rock and roll with Charlie Hunnam front and center of this latest big screen foray into the Excalibur mythology.
SYNOPSIS:
When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
I can't decry the effort too much here. It does look something of a worthwhile effort and Ritchie's signature film tropes are definitely visible here in certain portions and so it all looks entertaining as do Djimon Hounsou and Jude Law with the latter as the villain. The trailer does explore quite a bit, so you be the judge. Take a look and note its May 12 release!
